Despite confirmation in February 2008 that the Australian version of Grand Theft Auto IV would not be edited in any way, Rockstar has now told The Sydney Morning Herald journalist Jason Hill that the Australian version will be edited.

Words cannot describe the level of fail that this Big Brother-style government office has achieved.

Here's a thought; before you scare literally every game developer into thinking we're a complete nanny-state, why don't you take that trigger happy finger off the censorship cannon and recommend the introduction of an Adults Only R18+ rating for games.
